NECROT “Necrot”

NECROT – Necrot [Extremely Rotten Records 2012]

necrot_st

I really like the wave of rotten and dirty Death Metal that have started to flow over the barren lands lately, or well the last few years really. NECROT is one of the newer entities in this pool of decomposition. They started their venture of Death in 2011 and has already two demos under their belt. This first one that I am writing about now, and the newer “Into The Labyrinth” which also is worth a listen or 9.

Right now the band consist of three, though when “Necrot” was recorded they were only two, Chad Gailey on drums from a couple of bands that I don’t know yet, and Luca Indrio who handles bass, guitars and vocals, who we know from a couple of bands that have made quite some noise the last few years, ACEPHALIX and VASTUM. Since then Sonny Reinhardt has stepped in and has taken over some of the guitar duties.

As guessed, NECROT is delivering a heavy dose of downtuned midpaced raw Death Metal. The atmosphere is dark and raw, straight to the point and very drawing, it is hard not to be caught in the swirling dark madness from the band, it is all done in primitive ways. Good base riffs, a guttural and quite pronounced growl, like in the good old Swedish days, pounding drumming to the point and a nice rumbling raw bass and overall production. A trip down memory lane, without it being outdated nor dusty.

If you’re into the above described kind of Death Metal this demo and the new one from these guys are must haves, the new demo “Into The Labyrinths” should soon be released by Extremely Rotten Records. And follow NECROT closely, only good things should be able to develop from these early signs of brutality.

ROTTREVORE “Hung By The Eyesockets” releasedate 8-8-2013

About the new ROTTREVORE, here is the info from Xtreem Music directly……..recorded and produced by Mr Eric Rutan!!! Amazing!!!

…..Although the long awaited comeback EP of US heaviest Death Metal legends ROTTREVORE was recorded back in March 2011 and planned for a summer release through Xtreem Music, the fact is that several problems made it impossible until now. However, the band already made available for listening these tracks on their website, getting an astonishing reaction from fans worldwide.

It is now, in August 2013, when this 3-song EP titled “Hung By The Eyesockets”, recorded & produced by Erik Rutan at Mana Recording Studio in Florida, will see the light on CD format, being followed, a couple of months later, by a very special vinyl version.

One of these problems that delayed this release was the cover artwork and after trying three artists, the band decided to use the skills of Juanjo Castellano who again proved to be one of the most renowned artists in extreme Metal, creating another sick piece of art.

Originally entitled “Blind Sided Attack”, this EP changed its name for “Hung By The Eyesockets”, so for those who might think this is a different release, don’t worry it’s the same one. This release will coincide with ROTTREVORE’s very first and only European appearance ever at KillTown Deathfest in Denmark next 30th of August.

Release date for “Hung By The Eyesockets” is planned for August 8th and an advance track can be heard here:

Unspeakable Axe Records Reissue of BESIEGED’s “Victims Beyond All Help” out now

The Unspeakable Axe Records reissue of “Victims Beyond All Help” from Winnipeg, Manitoba Thrashers BESIEGED is now available worldwide.

BESIEGED have been terrorizing music listeners in their hometown of Winnipeg for some time, putting out a demo “Visions Of Pain” in 2004 and then releasing their debut in 2010. Their sound is lightning-fast death-tinged Thrash Metal, indebted to the old gods of the scene while also bringing in new influences and ideas. No jokey lyrics, no phony retro affectations, just pure bludgeoning for fans of SEPULTURA’s “Beneath The Remains”, SLAYER’s “Reign In Blood”, DARK ANGEL’s “Darkness Descends”, and other uncompromising, furious albums that pushed the genre to its limits. “Victims Beyond All Help” was self-released by the band in 2010 and limited to just 300 copies on pro CD-R; now it will be officially reissued with an upgraded layout. This reissue will use the same completely old school artwork painted by the legendary Ed Repka. This is the second release by Unspeakable Axe, the new sub-label of Dark Descent Records.
